The first design studies of this table, are already born three-dimensional and full-scale by folding pieces of cardboard, like a big Origami. Origami is the ancient Japanese technique of creating folds in paper ("ori" means to fold and "kami" means paper). It is believed that this practice appeared shortly after the invention of paper, around 100 AD. In this way, the history of Origami goes back to the origin of the material it uses as support - the same happens with this table. The final form of the table is the direct and inseparable result of the act of folding paper and did not count in any moment with the support of sketches or two-dimensional drawings, as usually happens in the initial phases of the act of designing. Due to this close relationship with the art of Origami, this piece received the name of Dobra Table.
