Table Tiê, by Daniela Ferro for DonaFlor Furniture, is awarded at the 34th Design Award of Museu da Casa Brasileira

Part of the 2021 DonFlor Furniture collection, the Tiê table, signed by Daniela Ferro, it’s one of the pieces contemplated at the 34th Design Award of the Museu da Casa Brasileira (Brazilian House Museum), an institution from São Paulo dedicated to Brazilian homes through design and architecture. 

Awarded with third place, the piece innovates bringing pottery to an outdoor furniture. Result of two years of research, the Tiê table was developed through exchange with potteries from Campo Largo (PR). “It was very challenging since the work depends a lot of the ability of every artisan, besides, the drying process, that depends on the weather and the burning of the pottery, made in a wood oven. After the finishing process goes through a second burn in high temperature, done at a pottery atelier in Curitiba”, says Daniela.  

Tiê was born from the reflection of the origins of pottery, a millennial material, the insight came as a proposition of not ordinary pieces, without losing the essence of the matter. The piece that it’s part of the Tiê collection, that also has sconces, were developed with the objective to modernize even more the pottery furniture for the décor.

Besides the awarded table, the suspended armchair Gota, by Latoog for DonaFlor, was one of the selected pieces in the furniture category as well. “The award shows that DonaFlor Furniture it’s in the right path, investing in innovate matters and focusing on the design and Brazilian millennial knowledge. The curatorship of Mila Rodrigues has been essential to maintain these characteristics for our brand”, says Marcelo Yamasita, director of DonaFlor.
